CURRICULUM VITAE

Jamie Bareham

I consider myself to be an all-round happy person, outgoing and an extrovert with a desire to do my best no matter the task at hand. I love to meet new people, try new experiences and put myself forward for whatever task may be at hand. I am confident in whatever I do because I know I will put as much effort as I can into the task, and relish challenges no matter what they may be. If I do not succeed at first in something, I will not let it get me down, striving to do better and succeed in the task at hand. I pick up on learning new equipment, software and environments very quickly, usually by immersing myself in the task and therefore learning through doing. This was apparent in my production of my digital magazine for a University assignment, as I was entrusted to produce the entire magazine on Adobe InDesign with no prior knowledge, finishing the module with a First.

Interests and Hobbies

From an early age I have been heavily invested in football – both playing, watching and analysing the game. I was invited to join Brighton and Hove Albion’s development system in which I played for 5 years, developing a love and investment for the game. I moved to Ryman League sides Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath at the age of 15, representing the under 21 side for each respective team as the youngest player in the side, as well as training alongside the first team. Since University, I play recreationally for the Campus League team, but my love for the game has not dwindled, writing match reports for AFC Bournemouth games as part of the Cherries Program at BU. This passion helped me produce a 7-minute radio documentary exploring the psychological effects of racism in football, in collaboration with charity Kick It Out.

As well as football, I’ve recently become infatuated with tennis, playing to a semi-pro level at The West Hants Club in Bournemouth, watching both ATP and WTA Masters events, and starting my own Tennis podcast entitled ‘Defending Points’. My passion for the sport is new and the opportunity to explore it in more detail in a working environment interests me heavily.
